Bring beauty into your kitchen with this Larch Wood Classic cutting board. Featuring swirling end-grain patterns that are meticulously hand matched, each board is a unique piece of craftsmanship.
Larch Wood makes all their boards from Eastern Canadian Larch, also known as Tamarack or Juniper. A specialty wood that only grows in certain Northern climates, Tamarack is hardy and has been used for centuries by native Indians from making homes to snowshoes.
End grain makes for the ideal cutting board construction, as the knife edge runs against the grain instead of across. This protects the blade from scarring the surface while keeping the knife edge sharp. In addition, small cuts on the board surface can naturally heal over time, when the grain fibers push back into place.
Maintenance is quick and we recommend a quality beeswax conditioner and mineral oil.
